Mattel's New HyperScan Game System

There's a new player in the video game system market, though they're approaching the concept in an entirely new way. Mattel has combined the traditional video game console with tradings cards to create the new HyperScan Intellicard Game System. The HyperScan features CD-based games with popular properties like Ben 10, X-Men, and so forth with collectible trading cards. The trading cards contain RFID chips which store character statistics, special moves, etc. By swiping the card over the console, you can load up a character from the card. As you play that character more and more, its skills will improve. The updated skills can be loaded back into the card at the end of the game by swiping it back over the console.

The console is priced at $69.99 MSRP, with games priced below that, and packages of the collectible cards priced in the $10 range.

If this console sounds interesting to you at all, you may want to check out the first player site available for the HyperScan: HyperScan Players World.

Spamtoons

I used to read the "Spamusement" cartoon site, but the guy who does that one never seems to update it anymore. The last comic he did was March 10 and that one was drawn by someone else. But I was looking at Comics Online and found one called "Spamtoons" that's pretty similar. It seems to be posting a new comic strip every Wednesday and Sunday - sometimes even more often. If you get the chance, check it out!

Google's Da Vinci Code Quest

I found a guy's web site who is playing Google's Da Vinci Code Quest game and posting the solutions to all the puzzles there. You can win some really nice prizes by entering, so I don't know why he's decreasing his own odds of winning by doing this. In any case, if you want to know how to solve those Google Da Vinci Code Quest puzzles, check it out.

Hello and Welcome!

This is my blog. I plan to share information here that I think would be entertaining and useful to others. I might talk about web sites I like, political issues that interest me, or even share some stuff about my life and health. We'll see as time goes on.

For now, I can tell you about one site that I enjoy. It's a web comic that takes its inspiration from spammers and spam emails. It's "Spamtoons.com" and I recommend checking it out. Looks like it was just started recently and is beginning to take off.
